Disease Ontology:8 A periodontitis that is characterized by rapid attachment loss and bone destruction in the presence of little local factors such as dental plaque and dental calculus resulting in inflammation and a loss of periodontium.

MalaCards: Aggressive Periodontitis, also known as periodontitis, juvenile, is related to arthritis and periodontosis. An important gene associated with Aggressive Periodontitis is FPR1 (formyl peptide receptor 1), and among its related pathways are Staphylococcus aureus infection and Osteoclast differentiation. The compounds etanercept and adalimumab have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include whole blood, colon and monocytes, and related mouse phenotype immune system.
