Wikipedia:64 Alcoholic cardiomyopathy is a disease in which the chronic long-term abuse of alcohol (i.e. ethanol)... more...

MalaCards: Alcoholic Cardiomyopathy, also known as dilated cardiomyopathy secondary to alcohol, is related to hypertensive heart disease and alcoholic liver cirrhosis. An important gene associated with Alcoholic Cardiomyopathy is MSTN (myostatin), and among its related pathways are beta-Alanine metabolism and tryptophan utilization II. The compounds mono(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate and reglitazar have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include liver, heart and cardiac myocytes, and related mouse phenotypes are adipose tissue and tumorigenesis.
