Disease Ontology:9 An echinococcosis that is caused by the larvae of echinococcus multilocularis affecting the liver as a slow growing, destructive tumor, with abdominal pain, biliary obstruction, and occasionally metastatic lesions into the lungs and brain.

MalaCards: Alveolar Echinococcosis, also known as multilocular hydatid, is related to echinococcosis and hepatitis. An important gene associated with Alveolar Echinococcosis is MT-CO1 (mitochondrially encoded cytochrome c oxidase I), and among its related pathways are Primary immunodeficiency and IL12 signaling mediated by STAT4. The compounds solium and dr-10 have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include liver, brain and lung, and related mouse phenotypes are tumorigenesis and digestive/alimentary.
