MalaCards: Amaurosis Fugax, also known as transient monocular blindness, is related to lupus erythematosus and retinal artery occlusion. An important gene associated with Amaurosis Fugax is MMP8 (matrix metallopeptidase 8 (neutrophil collagenase)), and among its related pathways are Cell adhesion ECM remodeling and Formation of Fibrin Clot (Clotting Cascade). The compounds kaolin and cacl2 have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include eye, endothelial and prostate.
