Wikipedia:64 Asbestosis is a chronic inflammatory and fibrotic medical condition affecting the parenchymal tissue of... more...

MalaCards: Asbestosis, also known as idiopathic interstitial pneumonitis - from asbestos exposure, is related to adenocarcinoma and tuberculosis. An important gene associated with Asbestosis is GSTT1 (glutathione S-transferase theta 1), and among its related pathways are Aflatoxin B1 metabolism and superoxide radicals degradation. The compounds estrogen and gssg have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include bone marrow, whole blood and colon, and related mouse phenotypes are homeostasis/metabolism and normal.
