Disease Ontology:8 An extrinsic allergic alveolitis that is an industrial disease characterized by cough, difficult breathing, chills, fever, and prolonged weakness caused by the inhalation of the dust of bagasse containing thermophilic actinomycetes.

MalaCards: Bagassosis, also known as sugar cane worker pneumonitis, is related to pulmonary function and silicosis. An important gene associated with Bagassosis is IL5 (interleukin 5 (colony-stimulating factor, eosinophil)), and among its related pathways are Rho Family GTPases and TGF-Beta Pathway. The compounds hydrocortisone and gm-csf have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include liver, lung and skin, and related mouse phenotype tumorigenesis.
