Disease Ontology:8 A viral infectious disease that results in infection, which affects dopaminergic neurotransmission located in central nervous system, has material basis in borna disease virus, which is transmitted by contact with infected oronasal secretions. the infection has symptom mood disturbances, has symptom behaviour disturbances, has symptom cognitive disturbances, has symptom neurologic disturbances, and has symptom movement impairment.

MalaCards: Borna Disease, also known as enzootic encephalomyelitis, is related to brain disease and chronic fatigue syndrome, and has symptoms including mood disturbances, behaviour disturbances and cognitive disturbances. An important gene associated with Borna Disease is PRF1 (perforin 1 (pore forming protein)), and among its related pathways are TCR signaling in naive CD4+ T cells and Downstream signaling in naive CD8+ T cells. The compounds delta-12-pgj2 and leupeptin have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include central nervous system, bone marrow and thymus, and related mouse phenotypes are integument and normal.
