Summaries for Campylobacteriosis

CDC : 3 Campylobacteriosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter. Most people who become ill with campylobacteriosis get diarrhea, cramping, abdominal pain, and fever within two to five days after exposure to the organism. The diarrhea may be bloody and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting. The illness typically lasts about one week. Some infected persons do not have any symptoms. In persons with compromised immune systems, Campylobacter occasionally spreads to the bloodstream and causes a serious life-threatening infection.

MalaCards based summary : Campylobacteriosis, also known as enteric campylobacteriosis, is related to prothrombin thrombophilia and subglottis neoplasm, and has symptoms including fever and pruritus. An important gene associated with Campylobacteriosis is TLR4 (Toll Like Receptor 4), and among its related pathways/superpathways are IL-2 Pathway and Toll-Like receptor Signaling Pathways. The drugs Rifaximin and Anti-Bacterial Agents have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include liver, bone and testes, and related phenotypes are hematopoietic system and cardiovascular system

Disease Ontology : 12 A primary bacterial infectious disease that results_in infection located in intestine, has material basis in Campylobacter jejuni, which is transmitted_by ingestion of contaminated food or water or transmitted_by contact with infected people or animals. The infection has symptom diarrhea or has symptom dysentery, has symptom abdominal cramps and pain, and has symptom fever.

Wikipedia : 72 Campylobacteriosis is an infection by the Campylobacter bacterium, most commonly C. jejuni. It is among... more...
