NINDS:44 For several decades the term ?tropical spastic paraparesis? (TSP) has been used to describe a chronic and progressive disease of the nervous system that affects adults living in equatorial areas of the world and causes

MalaCards: Htlv-1 Associated Myelopathy, also known as myelopathy, htlv-1-associated, is related to tropical spastic paraparesis and t-cell leukemia. An important gene associated with Htlv-1 Associated Myelopathy is KLRK1 (killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily K, member 1), and among its related pathways are Apoptosis Pathway and TGF-Beta Pathway. The compounds cycloheximide and pge2 have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Related mouse phenotypes are hearing/vestibular/ear and vision/eye.
