Summaries for Intussusception

About this section
CDC:2 Of cancers affecting both men and women, colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon and rectum) is the second leading cancer killer in the United States, but it doesn’t have to be. Screening can find precancerous polyps—abnormal growths in the colon or rectum—so they can be removed before turning into cancer. Screening also helps find colorectal cancer at an early stage, when treatment often leads to a cure.

MalaCards based summary: Intussusception, also known as colon, is related to peutz-jeghers syndrome and gastroenteritis, and has symptoms including autosomal dominant inheritanceand intussusception. An important gene associated with Intussusception is STK11 (serine/threonine kinase 11), and among its related pathways are Presenilin action in Notch and Wnt signaling and Jak/Stat Pathway. The compounds refacto and kogenate have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include colon, appendix and small intestine, and related mouse phenotypes are reproductive system and liver/biliary system.
