Summaries for Middle Lobe Syndrome

Disease Ontology : 12 A lung disease that is defined as a recurrent or chronic collapse of the right middle lobe, right upper lobe or lingula of the lung. It is caused by endobronchial tumour, granulomatous infections, lymphadenopathy, foreign bodies, endobronchial silicotic nodules, inspissated mucus associated with cystic fibrosis or inflammation as a result of an infection.

MalaCards based summary : Middle Lobe Syndrome is related to pallister-killian syndrome and epidermolysis bullosa, lethal acantholytic. An important gene associated with Middle Lobe Syndrome is FLNC (Filamin C), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Developmental Biology and Keratinization. The drugs Ethanol and Epinephrine have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include lung, and related phenotype is Decreased focal adhesion (FA) area, decreased FA length, decreased FA mean intensity, increased number of small and round FAs, increased FA abundance.
