Disease Ontology:9 A primary bacterial infectious disease that results in infection, has material basis in mycobacterium avium complex (mac), which is transmitted by inhalation or transmitted by ingestion of via the respiratory or gastrointestinal tract respectively. the bacteria cause disseminated infection in hiv infected people, while pulmonary disease in immunocompetent persons.

MalaCards: Mycobacterium Avium Complex Disease, also known as mycobacterium avium-intracellulare infection, is related to uveitis and tuberculosis. An important gene associated with Mycobacterium Avium Complex Disease is IFNGR1 (interferon gamma receptor 1), and among its related pathways are Interferon Pathway and all-trans-Retinoic Acid Mediated Apoptosis. The drug clofazimine and the compounds rantes and interferon gamma have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include testes, and related mouse phenotypes are tumorigenesis and liver/biliary system.
