MalaCards based summary : Pneumonia, also known as acute pneumonia, is related to nonspecific interstitial pneumonia and acute interstitial pneumonia, and has symptoms including coughing, fever and hemoptysis. An important gene associated with Pneumonia is CD40LG (CD40 Ligand), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Innate Immune System and ERK Signaling. The drugs Augmentin and Avelox I.V. have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include lung, testes and heart, and related phenotypes are hematopoietic system and cardiovascular system

Disease Ontology : 12 A lung disease that involves lung parenchyma or alveolar inflammation and abnormal alveolar filling with fluid (consolidation and exudation). It results from a variety of causes including infection with bacteria, viruses, fungi or parasites, and chemical or physical injury to the lungs. It is accompanied by fever, chills, cough, and difficulty in breathing.
