MalaCards: Protein-Losing Enteropathy, also known as protein-losing enteropathies, is related to lupus erythematosus and gastroenteritis. An important gene associated with Protein-Losing Enteropathy is MPI (mannose phosphate isomerase), and among its related pathways are Biosynthesis of the N-glycan precursor (dolichol lipid-linked oligosaccharide, LLO) and transfer to a nascent protein and Selected targets of C/EBPalpha. The compounds captopril and oxyphenbutazone have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include heart, small intestine and liver.
