Summaries for Pyogenic Granuloma

About this section
NIH Rare Diseases:45 Pyogenic granuloma are small, reddish bumps on the skin that bleed easily due to an abnormally high number of blood vessels. they typically occur on the hands, arms, or face. while the exact cause of pyogenic granulomas is unknown, they often appear following injury. pyogenic granuloma is often observed in infancy and childhood, but may also be observed in adults, particularly in pregnant women. small pyogenic granulomas may go away on their own. larger lesions are treated with surgery, electrocautery, freezing, or lasers. last updated: 11/13/2012

MalaCards based summary: Pyogenic Granuloma, also known as lobular capillary hemangioma, is related to hemangioma and capillary hemangioma, and has symptoms including leser-trélat sign An important gene associated with Pyogenic Granuloma is TEK (TEK Receptor Tyrosine Kinase), and among its related pathways are HIF-1 signaling pathway and Glioblastoma Multiforme. Affiliated tissues include skin, t cells and brain, and related mouse phenotypes are normal and vision/eye.
