NINDS:44 Sydenham chorea (SD) is a neurological disorder of childhood resulting from infection via (GABHS), the bacterium that causes rheumatic fever.

MalaCards: Sydenham's Chorea, also known as sydenham chorea, is related to chorea and neuronitis. An important gene associated with Sydenham's Chorea is BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor), and among its related pathways are Spinal Cord Injury and CXCR3-mediated signaling events. The compounds 3-nitropropionic acid and dopac have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include heart, brain and cortex.
