NIH Rare Diseases:42 Buerger disease is a disease that causes obstruction of the blood vessels of the hands and feet. it is caused by vasculitis, which is an inflammation of blood vessels. the blood vessels of the hands and feet are especially affected, becoming constricted or totally blocked. this reduces blood flow to the tissues of hands and feet, resulting in pain and eventually damage. last updated: 11/19/2009

MalaCards: Thromboangiitis Obliterans, also known as buerger disease, is related to arteriosclerosis obliterans and arteriosclerosis, and has symptoms including insomnia, hyperhidrosis/increased sweating and articular/joint pain/arthralgia. An important gene associated with Thromboangiitis Obliterans is SELE (selectin E), and among its related pathways are Adhesion and LDL Oxidation in Atherogenesis. The drugs isoxsuprine and tolazoline and the compounds norepinephrine and cyclophosphamide have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include bone, skin and endothelial, and related mouse phenotypes are respiratory system and cardiovascular system.
