Wikipedia:63 Thrombophlebitis is phlebitis (vein inflammation) related to a thrombus (blood clot). When it occurs... more...

MalaCards: Thrombophlebitis, also known as phlebitis and thrombophlebitis of superficial vessels of lower extremities, is related to pulmonary embolism and mondor disease. An important gene associated with Thrombophlebitis is APOH (apolipoprotein H (beta-2-glycoprotein I)), and among its related pathways are Dissolution of Fibrin Clot and PTM: gamma carboxylation, hypusine formation and arylsulfatase activation. The drugs heparin and heparin sodium and the compounds aspartate and warfarin have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include lung, breast and myeloid, and related mouse phenotypes are integument and cardiovascular system.
