KEGG : 36 Asthma is a phenotypically heterogeneous disorder with many etiologic factors and clinical characteristics. In some patients with asthma, aspirin and all nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) trigger asthmatic attacks. This clinical syndrome is characterized by eosinophilic inflammation of nasal and bronchial tissue, often associated with nasal polyps. It has been reported that genetic variations in TBX21 are associated with susceptibility to asthma with nasal polyps and aspirin intolerance.
