Summaries for Lipid Pneumonia

Disease Ontology : 12 An aspiration pneumonitis resulting from the aspiration of lipids. It is the result of a foreign body-type reaction to the presence of lipid material within the lung parenchyma. It is caused by inhalation of nasal drops with oil base or cosmetic oil and aspiration of mineral oil when used as a laxative agent.

MalaCards based summary : Lipid Pneumonia, also known as exogenous lipoid pneumonia, is related to cholesterol pneumonia and blue toe syndrome. An important gene associated with Lipid Pneumonia is LY75 (Lymphocyte Antigen 75), and among its related pathways/superpathways are PAK Pathway and Chemokine Superfamily Pathway: Human/Mouse Ligand-Receptor Interactions. The drug Antirheumatic Agents has been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include lung, liver and colon, and related phenotypes are homeostasis/metabolism and immune system
