Summaries for Loose Anagen Hair Syndrome

GARD: 19 Loose anagen syndrome is a rare benign hair disorder affecting predominantly blond females in childhood and characterized by the presence of hair that can be easily and painlessly pulled out. Most of the hair is in the anagen phase and lacks an external epithelial sheath. Hair grows back quickly and the condition improves spontaneously with aging. Loose anagen hair can be associated with other anomalies, such as coloboma.

MalaCards based summary: Loose Anagen Hair Syndrome, also known as loose anagen syndrome, is related to noonan syndrome-like disorder with loose anagen hair and uncombable hair syndrome 1. An important gene associated with Loose Anagen Hair Syndrome is KRT75 (Keratin 75), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Nervous system development and Keratinization. Affiliated tissues include skin, bone marrow and bone, and related phenotypes are abnormal hair whorl and iris coloboma

Orphanet: 58 Loose anagen syndrome is a rare benign hair disorder affecting predominantly blond females in childhood and characterized by the presence of hair that can be easily and painlessly pulled out. Most of the hair is in the anagen phase and lacks an external epithelial sheath. Hair grows back quickly and the condition improves spontaneously with aging. Loose anagen hair can be associated with other anomalies, such as coloboma.

UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: 73 In LAHS, anagen hairs are easily pulled from the scalp. The hair is relatively sparse and does not grow long. Hair of fair color and hair shafts of reduced caliber, and an early age of onset are features. Usually the hairs are not fragile and there are no areas of breakage.

Disease Ontology: 11 An alopecia characterized by anagen phase (actively growing) hair that is easily pulled from the scalp typically presenting in childhood in fair haired individuals and improving with age.
